An important and sensitive issue like foreign funding cannot be heard at the public level, the Election Commission said

A statement has been issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on the foreign funding case, in which the ECP has said that the scrutiny committee is taking impartial action, therefore, it is requested that no unnecessary comments be made. To be avoided

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said in a statement that the issue of foreign funding is very sensitive, which is in the national interest to be decided on merit. The case is already before the parties but is being heard in the commission. Relevant personalities and institutions are present there.

The ECP said in a statement that the scrutiny committee's mandate and powers belong to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), whose entire operation is confidential, so the foreign funding case cannot be heard in public. That could lead to difficulties for the scrutiny committee in its proceedings.

The statement further said that the scrutiny committee will formulate its comprehensive recommendations and submit them to the commission and the commission will provide these recommendations to both parties in an open hearing. Will decide as soon as possible.
